Aaron Bean
President Pro Tempore
Florida Senate, 4th District

Aaron Bean was first elected to the Florida Senate in 2012 and was subsequently re-elected, having no opposition in 2018 and 2020. He currently serves as Senate President Pro Tempore, chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services and vice-chairman of the Appropriations Committee. He previously finished his term as chairman of the Duval County Legislative Delegation in 2018. Before being elected to the Florida Senate, Aaron served eight years in the Florida House of Representatives.

In 2020, Senator Bean was named the 1st ever recipient of the Jacksonville University Distinguished Alumni Award of Excellence, which recognizes a graduate with “the highest level of character in their professional accomplishments, community and philanthropic efforts and continued support of JU.” The ALS Association Florida Chapter presented Senator Bean with the Ambassador of Hope Award due to his support and advocacy for ALS research and impacted families across the state. Senator Bean was also awarded with the prestigious Consortium of Florida Education Foundations (CFEF) Outstanding Partner Award for his tireless work to promote opportunities for students in Florida.

In addition to serving as president of Compass Bank in Nassau County for 11 years, Aaron has successfully launched four small businesses, including the High Energy Auction Company. He has been a professional Florida auctioneer for more than 18 years, and his quick wit and impressive results have put him in high demand as an auctioneer throughout the state of Florida.

Aaron received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Jacksonville University and is currently the relations development officer at UF Health Jacksonville. He has been a Rotarian for nearly 30 years and a volunteer for numerous organizations, including the National Alliance for Mental Illness, the YMCA, Crime Stoppers, and Nassau County Schools. Aaron and his wife, Abby, reside in Fernandina Beach, Florida and have three sons: Bradley, Gray, and Walker.
